www.thecreativepenn.com/This is the combination of pieces of advice I have culled online, because I have a feeling this is a good topic to have over here.
Something to consider is cost: Some of the services on offer look great, but then you need to keep an eye on the price tag. That said, some of those services could make a vital difference to the success level your novel or piece of fiction has, so don't immediately discount it. Look at this way: Are you going to recoup the money spent through sales? This line of thinking might make you think more carefully of what you use.
That aside, where can you publish?
One place to do it is Lulu.com. you also get a number of additional options, like selling your book through Amazon. They also have staff for things like proof reading, covers and so forth, and that is obviously a charged service. That said, they do hold a number of possibilities, so it is worth taking a look at them.
Another option, and one that seems more liked, is Createspace. They publish paper based books , selling them on Amazon, but there is also a redirection to KDP, for Kindle versions. There also seems to be a system for Kobo, but I'm nnot certain about it at this present time.
One resource that should be considered is thewebsite of author Joanna Penn. She has produced a huge amount of information, and comes highly recommended. She also has a Twitter account. Her website is www.thecreativepenn.com/ and her twitter account is @thecreativepenn.
Hopefully, this is a useful start for people.
