I'm trying to get started projects finished, and this is one of them.
It all centres on a clique that was slightly mentioned in The Thorns Of Lovecraft, and was never really looked at. This is the story of one of those girls, and how she ended up part of that clique. I got initial inspiration from this picture:
I had looked around, to see if there were possibilities, even if I had to compile the person together - something I sometimes do. But the look, the demeanour... it gave me ideas. This was created Chloe Taylor-Philips. A girl who is used to being top dog, until she ended up at Miskatonic Academy. Not only did she end up at the bottom of the pile, but there was... something lurking in the shadows... watching, waiting...
The idea was to create a piece of fiction that was Lovecraftian, touching the Weird Fiction style he had. Of course, it is also my own story, so things are quite different. It has a lot of action in the Methodist Chapel, a building that was slightly mentioned in Thorns. The basis of the building was from this picture:
The school refectory is the building on the left. In fact, this picture created more background for the school, by making me come up with a reason for a building that looks like a chapel next to another chapel. In time, I hope to develop further the whole school.
Hopefully, this is a useful start to explaining - and exploring - my July 2015 project. More will follow.
